The Zionist Federation of Ukraine expresses its strong support for the State of Israel in connection with the “Roaring Lion” operation aimed at the Iranian regime, which not only oppresses its own people but also poses a threat to the entire democratic world.

For many years, the Islamic Republic of Iran has systematically undermined the security of Israel and other nations by supporting and arming terrorist groups worldwide and openly declaring its intention to destroy the Jewish state. In pursuit of this goal, the Iranian regime has committed countless international crimes, including: the 1992 attacks on the Jewish Cultural Center and the Israeli Embassy in Buenos Aires, Argentina; financing, arming, and directing attacks by terrorist organizations such as Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Yemeni Houthis against Israel and other countries; the shooting down of a Ukrainian passenger plane (PS752) by Iranian air defense forces on January 8, 2020, shortly after takeoff from Tehran airport; supplying Russia with Shahed drones and ballistic missiles, which are daily used by the aggressor army against civilian cities and infrastructure in Ukraine; and developing long-range and weapons of mass destruction intended for use against Israel and other nations.

When a nation’s very existence is threatened, the right to self-defense is indisputable, especially when a fanatical regime not only openly declares its criminal intentions but also systematically carries out provocations, both through proxy terrorist groups and directly.

Recent events have once again demonstrated Israel’s readiness to defend its citizens and ensure national security.

Ukraine, which has endured five years of full-scale aggression by Russia, aggressively attacking Ukraine with political and technological support from the criminal Iranian regime, fully understands the cost and necessity of such a fight. We know what it means to defend freedom, sovereignty, and the right to life.

We express our support for the people of Israel and their right to defense and security. We support the United States and other allies participating in freeing the people of Iran from the tyrannical rule of the ayatollahs and eliminating the existential threat posed to the State of Israel and the democratic world by the Iranian terrorist regime.
