ZFU projects

ZFU projects (2023-2026)

Gershom Kiprischi (Netherlands / Latvia, Leiden Institute for Rational Theology and Monotheism) delivered two lectures on April 7 and 14: “Karaite Liturgy and the Karaite Prayer Book (8th–21st Centuries)” and “Halakha of Rabbanites, Samaritans, Karaites, and the Falasha.”

Jewish Knowledge Festival was held with support of ZFU.

A total of 45 people attended the Jewish Knowledge Festival in Kamianets-Podilskyi in person, including 6 representatives of the local Jewish community, while 34 participants joined online.

The Diye-Slovo studio, in cooperation with the NGO “Jewish Television” and with the support of the Zionist Federation of Ukraine (ZFU), held an in-depth conversation with Viacheslav Likhachev — a member of the Expert Council of the Center for Civil Liberties and head of the monitoring group on manifestations of anti-Semitism and xenophobia in Ukraine.

Olena Zaslavska, Executive Director of the Zionist Federation of Ukraine, spoke on air at EVREI TV (the NGO “Jewish Television”) about the formation of Ukraine’s delegation to the 39th World Zionist Congress.

With the support of the Zionist Federation of Ukraine (ZFU), the open course “Internal Conflicts in Israel: What Lies Beneath the Surface?” has been successfully completed.

In spring 2025, on the platform of the Diye-Slovo studio, Viacheslav Likhachov delivered an original lecture course titled “Three Conversations on War, Regression, and the End of History.”

With the support of the Zionist Federation of Ukraine, the course “Antisemitism in the Context of Intellectual History” by Viacheslav Likhachov has successfully concluded. 

Democratic elections for the delegation to the 39th World Zionist Congress, which will take place in 2025, were held in Ukraine. Ten Zionist parties and movements that are part of the Zionist Federation of Ukraine participated in the elections.

The publication was carried out as part of a project by the “Diye-Slovo” Studio and the

Zionist Federation of Ukraine, with financial support from the ZFU and private sponsors.

This project consisted of four meetings and was held in May 2024. Project Partner: the “Diye-Slovo” Studio.

Lecturer – Vyacheslav Likhachov – historian, political scientist, member of the Expert Council of the Center for Civil Liberties, head of the monitoring group on anti-Semitism and xenophobia in Ukraine.

David Fishman is a professor at the Jewish Theological Seminary of America (New York). This project is carried out in cooperation with the NGO Jewish Television and the Diye-Slovo studio.

The exhibition opened at the end of December 2023.

The cycle, which consisted of 8 lectures, is an attempt to answer one of the most interesting questions in the history of the 20th century: why was the Red Army so shamefully defeated in the first 1-2 weeks of the summer of 1941?

Projects in 2022

The “Circle of Hope” project is a psychological rehabilitation initiative for widows and mothers of Ukrainian Armed Forces servicemen who were killed after February 24.

Since November 2022, the project has included a series of lectures and seminars open to all interested participants.

The project “How the War Began” consists of a series of candid conversations with residents of Borodianka, Irpin, Hostomel, and other towns, as well as with volunteers, in which they recount how they experienced February 24, 2022.

From February 25 to the end of April 2022, the Zionist Federation of Ukraine, in cooperation with the Vaad of Ukraine, implemented a program to assist refugees from eastern Ukraine.
