Exhibition “The State of Israel: Ukrainian Roots” (2018–2022)

The exhibition consists of 12 panels (2 × 1 meters each), each highlighting a particular aspect of the development of the Jewish state, such as the military, medicine, urban planning, agriculture, energy, and more, through the biographies of individuals born in what is now Ukraine who immigrated to Palestine and, through their dedicated efforts, contributed to the establishment of the State of Israel.
In 2019, with the support of the Dutch Humanitarian Fund and the global movement “Yisrael Beiteinu,” the exhibition was presented in the towns of Korsun-Shevchenkivskyi, Vasylkiv, Stavyshche, Smila, Brovary, and others (as part of the “From the Shtetl” project), as well as in Kharkiv, Odesa, Balta (Odesa region), and Izmail. The presentations were expanded to include information about notable individuals originating from these towns and cities who also contributed to the creation of the State of Israel.
Presentations in Odesa, Balta, Izmail, and Kharkiv were delivered by students of the Institute of Philology and Journalism of V. I. Vernadsky Taurida National University, majoring in Hebrew studies.
The exhibition was prepared by the Zionist Federation of Ukraine in cooperation with the Kyiv Institute of Jewish Studies, with the support of the World Confederation of United Zionists (CUZ). The project was dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the independence of the State of Israel.
