The Zionist Federation of Ukraine is deeply shocked by the tragic events that took place in Sydney, Australia, during the celebration of Hanukkah. As a result of a shooting carried out by radical Islamists, at least 15 members of the Jewish community were killed and dozens more were injured. This horrific attack occurred during a peaceful gathering of people marking the holiday.

We extend our deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of those who were killed, and we wish a full and swift recovery to all those who were injured. We also send strength and resilience to their families and communities during this incredibly difficult time.

We call on the Australian government and all law enforcement authorities to take the most decisive measures to ensure a swift and thorough investigation and to bring those responsible to justice.

From the bottom of our hearts, we pray for and stand in solidarity with the Jewish community of Australia.
